After four years playing pro pickleball, these are six things I wish I’d learned sooner. Some are small adjustments, but they can make a big difference:
1️⃣ Use your hips to power your serve. Let your body help generate pace instead of relying on your arm.
2️⃣ Loosen your grip on resets. Soft hands make it easier to take pace off the ball.
3️⃣ Create space on your drives. Push away from the ball so you have room to swing through it.
4️⃣ Hit through your backhand flick. Don’t stop your paddle at contact.
5️⃣ Cross-step to cut off aggressive dinks. Get there early and take away your opponent’s time.
6️⃣ Track the ball with your paddle tip. It helps keep your paddle ready for the next shot.
Pick one of these to focus on the next time you play. Which one do you think would help your game most?
Hit reply and tell me.

P.S. I’m in El Salvador on a surf trip with Brandon Lane before an APP tournament next week. It’s been a fun stretch, and I’m really enjoying it :)
