Hey Everyone!

I’ve recently faced this challenge, and I want to talk you through it.

(I’m sure some of you are in the same boat.)

I adjust my mindset and play style depending on the opponent I’m facing.

For example…

If I know I’m better than my opponents, I’ll often play much more aggressively. I’ll use speed-ups off the bounce, I’ll lob, I’ll use deception.

But…

If I’m playing someone I think is equal to me in skill, or better, I’ll often go onto the defensive and shift to this “just make balls” mindset.

The issue with this is that you become extremely predictable to your opponent and allow them to dictate the pace.

If you’re playing someone better than you, it’s best to lean entirely into your tool belt and break out the bells and whistles. You won’t beat players that are better than you by simply dinking and hoping they miss.

Easier said than done. 😆

I realize this is the answer, yet I still struggle to do it in big moments.

I have it written down in my notes, but this is the number one thing holding me back, and to break the curse, this is the recipe for success!

Have you noticed this about your play?
