If you’re constantly popping up your dinks and giving your opponent an easy attack, focus on these 3 things:

  1. Stay low through the shot

Don’t rise up while you’re hitting the ball. Stay low throughout the entire stroke, then rise after contact.

This is super important because if your body pulls up, the ball will follow.

  1. Keep the paddle in your peripheral vision

This is one of my favorite tips.

On any soft shot in pickleball, you should always be able to see your paddle in your peripheral vision. If you lose sight of it at any point, your swing is probably too big.

It’s a simple way to make sure you’re keeping your backswing short and controlled.

  1. Loose grip. No wrist.

Keep your grip pressure around a 3/10 and push through the ball with your shoulder.

Your shoulder gives you a simple, repeatable motion. The more wrist you add, the more variables you introduce, which makes it much harder to control your dinks consistently.
