This past week at the APP Daytona Open was a complete bust.
I lost my first round in every main draw event. But honestly, that turned out to be a good thing—it forced me to take a deep dive into my game.
Mistake #1: My Airbnb Situation
I stayed in an Airbnb with 10 people. Big mistake.
With so many different personalities around, it was nearly impossible to focus on my own game and execution. I couldn’t fully gather my thoughts or get into the right mindset.
Lesson learned: From now on, I’m getting my own hotel room.
Mistake #2: Being Too Friendly
What do I mean by this?
On tour, you see the same players all the time—at least twice a month. I love saying hi to my fans and catching up with people, but I have to remember why I’m there: to compete and win.
Tournaments aren’t social gatherings. During the competition, I need to stay locked in on my game and not worry about everyone else.
Moving forward, I’ll be treating tournament time like game time.
Till next week!
